University Veteran Services

The skills that veterans hone during their service — discipline, organization, time management, and attentiveness can give them an advantage as students. However, the academic, social, and cultural realities of college life and the transition from military service to campus can be difficult without intentional support. University Veterans Services (UVS) offers that support in addition to unique programming and outreach to help veterans successfully acclimate to college life. UVS serves military-connected students throughout their entire university experience — from preapplication to postgraduation — in three key focus areas: education benefits, student success, and outreach and advocacy. Currently, there are more than 400 student veterans receiving education benefits at UW–Madison, and the programs offered through UVS provide the services necessary for their academic success and community building.

Your gift will directly support veterans and active service members adapting to life at UW–Madison. Through its programs, UVS provides opportunities for incoming students to make early connections with each other and allows continuing students to give back to their peers. With your help, we can provide essential training for peer advisors and use academic and social programs to cultivate a meaningful community for military-connected students on campus.

Thank you for your generosity! Your support can make a big difference.
