Students walking on campus

Mental Health

Mental health distress is a growing concern for college students everywhere and can impact a student’s academic and social experience. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among United States teens and young adults. Your gift will help enhance suicide prevention and mental health promotion efforts at UW–Madison including:

  • Development, implementation, and evaluation of suicide prevention trainings and educational opportunities for UW–Madison students, faculty, and staff (both online and in-person)
  • Distribution of safety tools such as medication lockboxes, Naloxone, and gun locks
  • Development and implementation of campaigns related to reducing stigma, increasing help-seeking behaviors, and building culture of care on our campus
  • Reduction of barriers to accessing campus mental health services by providing financial assistance to students and improving access to and continuity of mental health care

Your contribution helps build the capacity of all UW–Madison community members to support student mental health, prevent suicide, and reduce health disparities on our campus.
