For more than a century, UW–Madison has been home to one of the top-ranking geography departments in the nation. Our rich and vibrant discipline is essential to understanding the ever-changing world and all its people. The skills our students develop prepare them for careers in ecological restoration, data analysis and visualization, public health, community organization, transportation, journalism, sustainable agrifood systems, and much, much more.

We want our department and all its members to succeed and to grow. In 2025, for the first time, we’ll offer an undergraduate certificate in geospatial data science, opening a door into an increasingly important area of study. Your gifts will be used to create more opportunities for our students: more important independent research and fieldwork across all geographical disciplines, more community outreach events, more professional meetings and networking, and more internships that will help launch their futures.

We appreciate your support as we help shape the next generation of geographers!

Gifts will be contributed to the Department of Geography Fund – 132411460 at the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
