Anthropology faculty and students are making a difference through research that builds connections with communities around the world.

How your gifts make an impact

The Department of Anthropology is deeply grateful to the many people who have made it possible to cultivate our students’ success. Support from alumni and friends has allowed us to better realize our program’s educational and research mission. We’ve used your gifts to expand undergraduate and graduate student learning inside and outside the classroom, recruit top-notch graduate students, and foster innovation and creativity in our intellectual community. We are proud of our ability to make limited resources go far!

Why we need your support

Your gifts will be used to continue this important and engaging work. Top funding priorities are student research, travel, and educational opportunities. We love to support students who are giving their first conference presentation or professional talk. We also do our best to support students who need just a little help to finish up a promising new research project. This support helps us to recruit, retain, and support graduate students. Finally, we need support for events that foster intellectual engagement: sponsored lectures, World Anthropology Day, and various public outreach events. Whether your donation goes to support student experiences, program excellence, or events, it will be greatly appreciated!

Gifts made in support of the Department of Anthropology will be contributed to Department of Anthropology Foundation Fund at the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
